About AERES
The Aerospace Research Students Symposium (AERES) is an annual technical event hosted by the Department of Aerospace Engineering, at IISc, promoting cutting edge aerospace research and fostering collaboration among the brightest students across the country.
Over the four days, MTech and PhD students present their groundbreaking research, sparking collaboration and driving knowledge exchange within the aerospace community.
AERES’25 witnessed enthusiastic participation from 300 + students and faculty members. Additionally, 10 + students from premier institutions were invited to showcase their research projects.

Presentations explored laminar flame chemistry, soot formation in combustors, LES of hydrogen jet flames, and combustion-shock interactions. Liquid propulsion advances, injector atomization, and multi-component gas diagnostics were among the highlights, attracting significant attention from industry experts. simulations.
PROPULSION

AERODYNAMICS
Topics ranged from cavity flow acoustics validation to Mack Mode instability characterization. Researchers presented work on flexible velocity Boltzmann schemes, turbulent boundary layer perturbations, and anisotropic mesh methods for high-order compressible flow simulations.

CONTROLS
From human-drone interaction frameworks to multi-agent autonomous aerial systems, these sessions showcased AI-driven, adaptive control approaches for aerospace vehicles. Dynamic geofencing, optimal path routing, and cooperative target tracking in space missions were notable themes.

STRUCTURES
Talks covered wave propagation in composite materials, phononic time crystals, and impact damage analysis using AI. Presentations also included structural health monitoring techniques, CFRP laminate performance, and metamaterial-inspired designs.
